Jewellers

Precision marking and laser setups for Irish jewellers.

We engrave on precious metals for established jewellers, and we help studios bring the right xTool laser in-house when the volume warrants it. Two services, one practitioner, no contradictions.

Frequently asked

Which xTool laser is right for jewellery work?
For precious metals, the F2 Ultra Dual is the strongest fit — the 60W MOPA fibre source handles deep-etch hallmarks, fine artwork, and colour marking on titanium and stainless. The F2 Ultra UV is the answer for plating-friendly cold marking and resin or gemstone-set pieces that can't take heat.
Can I engrave inside rings on the F2 Ultra?
Yes, with the rotary attachment. We commission rotary setups regularly for jewellers — we'll dial in focus, jig the ring, and prove repeatability on your test pieces before sign-off.
Is the F2 Ultra suitable for hallmarking?
It produces marks that meet the legibility and depth expectations of independent assay and house marks. It does not replace official hallmarking by the Assay Office, but it is the standard tool for maker's marks and bespoke interior engraving.
Will laser marking damage gemstones?
Fibre lasers near a set stone carry thermal risk. For stone-set pieces we either mask carefully, mark before setting, or use the UV source which runs cold. This is exactly the kind of judgement we cover in a commissioning session.
Do I need extraction for jewellery work?
Yes. Even cold UV marking benefits from light extraction; fibre marking on plated metals demands proper filtration. We specify and install extraction as part of any commissioning brief.
Can you help me choose, install, and learn the machine?
That's exactly what the xTool Expertise side of the studio exists for. Pre-purchase consultation, on-site commissioning, and one-to-one training are all bookable separately.
