Privacy policy
Last updated: 6 June 2026
This policy explains what personal data Boyne Valley Laser Studio ("we", "us", "our") collects when you visit our website or get in touch about a project, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what your rights are under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
Boyne Valley Laser Studio is a small laser engraving studio based in Dunshaughlin, County Meath, Ireland. We are the data controller for any personal data collected through this website.
For any privacy enquiry, contact us at info@boynevalleylaserstudio.ie or +353 87 296 8135. As a small business we are not required to appoint a Data Protection Officer, but enquiries go directly to the studio principal.
What we collect
- Contact enquiries — name, email address, optional phone number and organisation, project type, and the message you send us through our contact form or by email.
- Project records — order details, artwork files, delivery addresses, and invoices when you commission work from us.
- Technical data — minimal server logs (truncated IP address, user agent, request path) kept briefly to keep the site secure and prevent abuse.
- Cookies — only essential cookies by default. Any non-essential cookies are set only after you give consent via the cookie banner. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- Responding to enquiries and providing quotes — legal basis: legitimate interests, and pre-contractual steps at your request.
- Delivering commissioned work — legal basis: performance of a contract with you (or your organisation).
- Issuing invoices and meeting tax obligations — legal basis: legal obligation under Irish tax law.
- Keeping the website secure — legal basis: legitimate interests.
How long we keep your data
- Contact enquiries that do not turn into a project: up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Project records, invoices and related correspondence: retained for 6 years from the end of the relevant tax year, as required by Irish Revenue.
- Server logs: typically 30 days.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for advertising. We rely on a small number of trusted service providers acting as data processors on our behalf, including:
- Website hosting and email infrastructure providers (used to operate the site and to send and receive correspondence).
- Payment, accounting and invoicing tools used to run the business.
- Couriers and postal services when we ship physical work to you.
Where any provider processes data outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses). Affiliate links to xTool on this site are clearly labelled and, if you click them, are subject to xTool's own privacy policy.
Your rights
Under GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Have inaccurate data corrected.
- Request deletion of your data (where we are not legally required to keep it).
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Request a portable copy of data you provided to us.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@boynevalleylaserstudio.ie. We will respond within one month. If you are not happy with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie or by phone on +353 57 868 4800.

By default we only set strictly necessary cookies required for the site to function and for basic security. Any analytics or preference cookies are loaded only after you agree via the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your cookies and reloading the site.
