F2 Ultra Dual vs F2 Ultra UV.

Both sit in xTool's F2 Ultra galvo family but they solve different problems. The Dual is a metals workhorse with diode for coated surfaces; the UV is the only sensible answer for glass, plastics, plated parts and heat-sensitive substrates.

Pick the Dual if…

  • Most of your work is on stainless, brass, titanium or anodised aluminium.
  • You want colour marking on stainless and titanium.
  • You need fast serialisation, QR codes or batch metal marking.
  • You also work on painted or coated surfaces and want a diode source on the same machine.

Pick the UV if…

  • You mark glass, plastics, polycarbonate or acrylic regularly.
  • You work on plated jewellery or giftware and need to keep the plating intact.
  • Your products are heat-sensitive (cosmetics packaging, electronics, premium leather).
  • You need photographic-quality marks on clear or coloured substrates.

If you still can't choose…

Most studios that need both eventually buy both — they don't overlap. If budget forces a single pick, start with the source that matches the substrate you handle most. We run both in production and offer an independent consultation to walk through your specific use case.
